Hollister Cardiff - Now Open

Hollister, the Californian fashion brand for dudes (men) and bettys (women) which sells a range of clothing such as vintage jeans, polo shirts, beach/surf wear, dresses and accessories has now opened in Cardiff.

Hollister is the sister brand of US clothing brand Abercrombie & Fitch.

The brand has recently been in the news with the revelation that the company’s background is fictitious. The brand is based on the story of an adventurer named John Hollister, who left Manhattan at the age of 21 to move to the Dutch West Indies to fund a rubber plantation before selling up and moving to California to establish the Hollister fashion label in 1922.  Although the brand uses logos and labels bearing the date ‘1922’, the company was only founded in 2000 by Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries.

Hollister stores are designed to simulate the feeling of being in a South California surf-shack. The brand currently has 10 stores in the UK in cities such as London, Manchester, Liverpool and Bristol. The Cardiff store is the company’s first store in Wales.
